So sorry to hear, Dad, that you had such a bad fall. I hope your knee is healing and not too painful. Unfortunately you will need your knee to cycle! The rest will do you good – a higher power said it was time. Well done, William, soldiering on, despite your gear problems. I do hope you will cope with all these challenging days. Brutal sounds like a good description. There were some pictures on the Tour d`Afrique website of the road conditions and they look simply ghastly. I`m sure there are people who have taken a ride in the transport before this stage. Anyway you are both having an amazing experience and seeing so many mind-blowing things. Your blogs are so interesting and you are now in Guatemala. Yet another country. Life continues as usual here. All well. Hope the route will be kinder and that you will soon be able to cycle again, Dad. Love, Mom
